We were driving home from a trip to Rochester, New York. We spoke about how funny it would be to create a podcast about drunk physicians explaining diagnoses and procedures (similar to Drunk History). Given the fact that this would not bode well for my future career as an orthopaedic surgeon, we decided not to pursue this idea.
I have always been interested in the lack of diversity in orthopaedic surgery. I have always wanted to change the look of the field. It was in that car ride that I realized that I could create a podcast, consisting of interviews with female surgeons, to highlight and empower the field of orthopaedic surgery.
What I love about podcasting is that it is easily accessible, free, and will last forever. My hope is that this podcast will inspire the surgeons and surgeons in training for decades to come.
